The Stag and Hounds is now re-open following a major refit and
refurbishment during January 2007. Kevin and Denise have chosen to
re-open the pub in line with government legislation, as a totally
non-smoking establishment. In a bold step forward to embrace the new requirements the pub now offers a healthy atmosphere to enjoy
locally produced produced food. New carpets and furniture have been
installed throughout the inside. Outside a new decked area at the rear
boasts seating for up to 55 complete with patio heaters for those chilly
spring evenings.

Locally produced ingredients!
We endeavour to obtain as much of our food from local farms and producers as we can. Most of our beef, pork and lamb comes from within 10 miles, some is reared in the fields just next door!
Our vegetable produce is from local farmer's markets so your food is not just the highest standards, but we know it has travelled less than 25 miles to get to us!.
We change our menu's to accommodate what is available and what is the best local produce. Our menu's here are just an indication what is available. Actual menu's may change so that you get the best!
Whether you are out walking, cycling, hunting or just out for a drive, we welcome you to join
us in at our 17th century inn. The main bar used to be a baker's where you can still see the oven door and ash door in the corner of the bar. At one stage in it's history, the current kitchen also used to be the village mortuary! Thankfully, it's now dedicated soley to preparing some of the best meals around.
