Choice of beers and ales at the Stag and Hounds
Currently (as of 17th October) we have Adnam's Broadside, Green King and Tetley's Cask beers.
Each year we serve up to 20 different beers. In addition to Greene King and Tetley's, we serve a number of guest ales at various times throughout the year. Amongst them are :-

Adnam's Broadside
Brewed to celebrate the battle of Sole Bay in 1672, Broadside is a "rich fruitcake aromas of almonds, zest and conserved fruit. A wonderful balance of malt and hop flavours". 4.7% ABV

Ruddles County
Ruddles County is famed for its dry, bitter flavour, which comes from using the rare Bramling Cross hops. Many liken the flavour to burnt toffee and caramel which, when combined with the dry bitterness, gives a very pleasing taste. It really is the ultimate bitter-lovers' bitter. 4.7% ABV

Old Speckled Hen
Old Speckled Hen, originally from Abingdon, Oxfordhire, now from Bury St. Edmunds has a warm flavour bursting with body. malt loaf and toffee flavours combine with a bitterness on the back of the tongue to give a beatifull balanced sweetness. 5.2% ABV

Greene King IPA
Greene King IPA is a great tasting beer, characterised by its fresh, hoppy taste and clean, bitter finish.
This award-winning beer's hoppy taste and aroma comes from two varieties of English hops, which are combined with pale and crystal malts. 3.6% ABV

Abbot Ale
Abbot Ale has masses if ripe fruity character, a malty richness and superb hop-balance followed by an intense bitter-sweet finish. 5.0% ABV
Tetley's Cask Ale
As a result of brewing this beer in Yorkshire Squares, it has a full-bodied roasted malt flavour with just a hint of caramel. Tetley's Cask also has a smooth hop character and bitterness derived from English hops, and is served at the traditional temperature of 12ºC. 3.7% ABV
