Your host makes the most of fresh local produce.

Every effort is made to obtain as much of our ingredients from local farms and producers.

In reality most of our beef, pork and lamb comes from farms within a 10 mile radius, some is reared in the fields just next door!

Vegetables are from locals or the local farmer's markets, either way it doesn't travel far to get to us.

Theme nights are popular and the Stag and Hounds is no exception, Thursday night is 'Pie Night' (although you can order from the main menu if you wish). The pie's are all freshly prepared and baked on the premises and the choice varies subject to the availabilty of local produce.

Whether you are out walking, cycling, hunting or just out for a drive, we welcome you to join us in at our 17th century inn. The main bar used to be a baker's where you can still see the oven door and ash door in the corner of the bar. At one stage in it's history, the current kitchen also used to be the village mortuary! Thankfully, it's now dedicated soley to preparing some of the best meals around.
